This is the second book in the Artemis Fowl series.
In this book Artemis receives a email showing his father in the Arctic. Artemis plans to go and save his father from the Russian Mafiya.
But the fairies want Artemis down in there city to answer some questions. some humans have been trading with the goblins. When they find out that Artemis isn't to blame he is asked to help find out who is behind it.
How are the goblins getting so smart?, who is trading with them? and what has a pixie genies have to do with it?
